A Different Kind of Childcare

The Children of America difference is our commitment to your child's educational future. Innovation and creativity are the hallmarks of our teaching and educational foundation. We know the early years are critical in helping children build a solid appreciation for education, so we ignite the imagination of every child with our proprietary curriculum, developed by Dr. Vicki Folds, one of the nation's leading child development experts with 35 years of hands-on research and experience.

Our mission is to help all children foster their "I am" which helps foster their "I can", that helps them to succeed. We know how important it is for children to have a positive environment with positive interactions so our teachers work under the "I am" philosophy to promote each child's physical, social, emotional and intellectual development. The approach concentrates on allowing each child to learn through his or her own creativity and self-reliance, while laying the foundation for reading, writing and logical thinking. For more than a decade, our teachers have used this method to help thousands of children develop the skills necessary to succeed in their educational futures.

Children need a secure and creative environment that allows them to explore, learn and laugh. Partner with the Leaders in Educational Childcare, and together we can support your child and take the first step toward a lifetime of success.

Mission Statement

Children of America's commitment is to provide a safe, developmentally appropriate environment for infants through elementary school. Our emphasis is to provide a stimulating and educational experience that promotes every child's social, emotional, physical and cognitive development. We deliver educational programs that foster self esteem, encourage curiosity and inspire children's desire to be life-long learners.

Our Proprietary Curriculum

Our teaching philosophy is to continuously develop new and innovative programs bringing every child the most current and relevant curriculum to date. We realize the importance of being accountable to the children we serve which is reflected in our efforts...by our dedication, innovation, and ability to prepare young children for higher learning.

Through exploration and discovery each child receives ample opportunity to develop his or her natural curiosity and creativity. With the guidance of caring teachers our children cultivate each and every moment for lasting understanding. This is the key to providing educational programs that develop your child's discoveries into a lifelong love of learning and academic success.

COA Approach to Learning - Active Learning the Central Element

We know that young children are active learners. So, our approach to early childhood education is one of teaching through activities to facilitate growth in the areas of social, emotional, physical and cognitive development. In this regard, we pattern our philosophy after the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) standards with developmentally appropriate practices. There are three types of learning environments that must be present in classrooms in order to be successful: naturalistic, informal and structured. Our classrooms provide all three environments for daily learning opportunities. The evidence becomes clear as we see children problem solve through experiences, use higher level thought processing such as critical thinking skills and as teachers pose situations to children to figure out for themselves. And finally, we believe in respecting the dignity and worth of every individual within each family and value every child as unique.

COA Mind & Body Matters - Nurturing Children and Families

As part of our commitment to the families we serve, we have created our COA Mind & Body Matters. Our system is based on an integration of three specific programs designed to encourage parent-child reading-time and a healthy-living lifestyle through nutrition and fitness.

The three focal points that make-up our program include:

COA JUST READ PROGRAM | learn more

The vision of the COA Just Read Program is that every child learns to read early and well, thereby reaching his or her full potential in school and in life. This program consists of a series of interactive books written and illustrated by the COA children. This COA Just Read program has been initiated to encourage parents to read to their child in the comfort of their own home and is compatible with smartphones, iphones, Kindles and the like. With as little as 15 minutes a day, you can be part of an important milestone in your child's life bringing the world around them into the home.

COA NUTRITION PROGRAM | learn more

Our Nutrition initiative is power-packed. By bringing on a Registered Dietitian (RD) Jaime Windrow, we are expanding our reach to parents with a nutrition blog, private nutrition consultations, nutritious meal plans for the children we serve and healthy cooking tips and recipes.

COA PRESIDENTIAL FITNESS PROGRAM | learn more

We will continue to facilitate the idea that when started early in life "Physical Fitness" can become a healthy part of every child's life. With our philosophy THINK...BE...DO, the campaign incorporates a full curriculum of physical activities building endurance and cardiovascular strength in all our young participants.

Working in conjunction, these three programs support the fundamental belief that parents and educators play a crucial role in helping children develop a love of the written word, healthy eating habits and a healthy respect for physical fitness.

Here at COA, we believe that it is our role, for that matter our duty, to act as a resource center for parents, by bringing sources of relevant information that may help enrich the day-to-day lives of our families.

Safety Measures – A Serious Job

Ensuring the safety and security of all the children at COA is top-of-mind for our teachers and administrators. We know this and have taken strict measures to ensure that our infrastructure reflects this philosophy.

We utilize one of the most advanced security management software programs in the market today. This starts with security systems at the door, where parents use a Personal Identification Number (PIN) to gain entry into the building. This records each child in or out of the center on a daily basis. Through this system, staff members are able to monitor who drops off and picks up each child. Children are released ONLY to those individuals listed on enrollment records and confirmed by identification check.

Added value to our building security is our Internet access monitoring system, Always Close By. This web-based service means you're just a click away from watching your child's daily activities. So you're closer than you think, no matter where you are.

From time to time, little ones may tumble. So we added a rubberized surface* or soft synthetic turf in our outdoor play areas for that extra safety measure. All perimeter and playground gates are locked and monitored to ensure that children can enjoy outdoor play safely at all our daycare facilities.

We care for life's most precious gifts and we take our job very seriously.
