"Orange" excitement at The Indianapolis Zoo!

May 2014

The Simon Skjodt International Orangutan Center is now open! An epic adventure awaits inside this incredible new exhibit, which offers an unparalleled experience for both guests and orangutans. During opening weekend, guests will enjoy live entertainment, family photo ops, and of course, up-close interactions with the orangutans themselves.

This innovative new facility is already receiving nationwide media attention as one of the most significant zoo exhibits anywhere in the world! The Center will draw record-breaking crowds to the Indianapolis Zoo, so guests are encouraged to plan ahead for their visit and purchase advance tickets online to save both time and money.

Beginning at 8:00 am every Saturday and Sunday morning from May 24-Sept.1, Indianapolis Zoo members can see the apes rise and shine. Not only is this a full hour before the Zoo opens to the general public, but you'll also get the unique opportunity to watch the sleepy orangutans as they start their day – with big morning yawns and "aww" inspiring bed head!

If you're not a member yet, now is the perfect time to begin a twelve month membership! Be among the first to explore the most important zoo exhibit in the world and discover why the Indianapolis Zoo is giving new hope for a species on the verge of extinction.
