Announces 31st Annual Young Artist Competition

Carmel, IN--September 26, 2011--The Carmel Symphony Orchestra announces its 31st Annual Young Artists Competition, sponsored by Meridian Music. The winner will be featured at the Carmel Symphony Orchestra's April 29, 2012 Family Fun! performance in the Palladium at the Center for the Performing Arts. The winner also receives a $1,000 cash award provided by Meridian Music. The First Runner-Up will receive $500 and Second Runner-Up receives $250, courtesy of the CSO League.

The Carmel Symphony's Young Artist Competition encourages and allows young musicians from Central Indiana to compete at the highest level of technical excellence with peers from their age group.

Eligibility requirements include students up to and including Grade 12 and must be a resident of one of the following counties: Boone, Clinton, Hamilton, Hancock, Hendricks, Johnson, Madison, Marion, Morgan, Shelby or Tipton.

Entry forms with further information and requirements are available at Meridian Music (12725 Old Meridian Street, Carmel), the Carmel-Clay Public Library (55 Fourth Avenue SE, across from Carmel High School), or via the Carmel Symphony Orchestra's website at CarmelSymphony.org. Completed materials must be postmarked by November 1.

The Carmel Symphony Orchestra, founded in 1975, is an 85-member ensemble.
