Santa Races to Bring Jolly Days into The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis Earlier than Ever!

November 12, 2012 | 01:01 PM

Ladies and gentlemen, Santa and elves… start your engines! Santa is arriving at the world's largest children's museum faster than ever this season in a Dallara IndyCar driven by a Guinness World Record holder! The jolly old soul is giving Rudolph's nose a break and using flashers from a police escort and swirling lights from 2012 Honda Civic Si Coupe Safety Cars to lead the way for his racing sleigh as it makes its grand arrival the day after Thanksgiving, Nov. 23, 2012 at 9 a.m.

Once inside, the voices of children and families will ring out in a big way to welcome Mr. Kringle as part of a new and unique welcome this holiday season! At 9:30 a.m., Santa will make his way inside the museum to meet all the boys and girls. Not only is Mr. Claus available for sharing your wish list, but one lucky child will accompany Santa down the Yule Slide at 10 a.m. for the official kick-off! A free youth with the purchase of an adult admission is available on tickets purchased before 10 a.m. when the entire museum opens.

"We certainly share Santa's sense of urgency in meeting with all the good little girls and boys this season and we are honored that he made it a priority to race in to The Children's Museum so early this year," said Dr. Jeffrey H. Patchen, president and CEO, The Children's Museum of Indianapolis. "There is no where else I would rather be on the day after Thanksgiving!"

"I am a lifelong fan of IndyCar Racing and Santa himself! The opportunity to see the big guy riding in the back seat of our 2-seater IndyCar is something I will cherish Forever!" said Scott Jasek, co-owner, Indy Racing Experience, Dallara IndyCar Factory.

Those looking for tasty treats will find hot breakfast sandwiches, pastries, fruit, full menu of Starbucks drinks, hot chocolate, and other beverages in the museum's Food Court.

After the festivities, visitors will enjoy a snowflake winter wonderland during this year's Jolly Days! All of your favorite friends, Santa, and Jingles the Jolly Bear are ready to celebrate the coming of winter at The Children's Museum of Indianapolis.
