An event to “CHAIRish”

November 06, 2013 | 08:21 AM

This Friday, over two hundred Indianapolis area residents will gather at the Lucas Oil Sports Pavilion for the sixth annual CHAIRish The Children fundraiser benefitting Indiana's largest human services organization, The Villages.

Along with auctioning unique, hand-painted chairs created by talented local artists, the evening will include a silent auction with items such as sporting event tickets, signed sports memorabilia, airline tickets and tickets to several area attractions.

Folks with other plans on Friday evening can still participate using the online bidding site! Bids will be accepted until 9:00 PM on Thursday, November 7th. Visit www.biddingforgood.com/chairish to view all auction items and place your bids!

As you peruse and bid on these unique, one-of-a-kind items, keep in mind:

A $100 donation will send five children to summer camp, a $250 donation will fund play therapy materials for abused children, and a $500 donation will provide a semester's worth of books for a former foster youth.

I hesitate to share my favorite items for fear I will be out bid, but you simply MUST check out the "Flower Child" chair, "Cow" chair," "House Divided" chair, and the "Peace" chair.

So, have a seat at your computer and place your bids to support The Villages. Better yet, join the excitement in person at the CHAIRish The Children event this Friday night!
