18 Weeks and Postive Attitude!

18 Weeks and Postive Attitude!

It has been a while since I posted about my doctor visit that had me down in the dumps. I have really tried to change my mindset about all of that, and stop dwelling on the fact that I might weigh a bit more than some other pregnant ladies did at this time of their pregnancy. All bodies are different, including mine, and I need to be okay with that.

Besides changing my mindset, though, I did also change my eating habits. Since that appointment, I have tried to find my way back to my healthful eating habits. I have been eating a lot of salads, veggies, and fruits, with less sweet treats in the mix. I have started drinking my Shakeology again, as well. This made me sick in my first trimester, so I had to leave it behind. Though that doctor appointment was a tough day for me and I could not stop crying, as I look back now, I am often thankful to that doctor for leading me in the direction of more healthful eating. I do feel much better!

Over this past weekend, I definitely let myself indulge in some sweet treats, including a DQ Blizzard and some cookie dough ice cream!!! But I am also letting myself be okay with that! A pregnant lady does deserve some sweet treats now and then, right?

My Baby Titus was healthy and we heard a heartbeat at my last visit!! That should be my focus! It is a miracle and a blessing! My new outlook is to truly try my best to enjoy this very special time in my life. Who knows if I will ever go through it again? I can already tell it is going way too fast! I am almost at the halfway mark of this pregnancy and that is crazy!!!

My second trimester has brought less nausea and more energy! I am able to make more healthful decisions about what I eat and I have the energy to workout, which always makes me feel better!

Since my last doctor visit, I have talked with many other Mommies and had the opportunity to hear their pregnancy stories. I have learned that all pregnancies are different, and no matter how healthful you might keep your diet, how much you workout and follow pregnancy guidelines, Baby will always do what it wants to do!!! I truly believe that during my first trimester, my body was telling me something. Maybe my body needed those greasy, fatty foods and that is why I was craving them. Perhaps my body did not have enough of those foods and fats to support Baby Titus.

Pregnancy is such an amazing miracle!! My body is creating another life!! The last thing I should do during this time is feel down or negative about my body. It is doing some amazing work right now, and if it would like to have some cookie dough ice cream, I will most certainly allow that!!

Do you have any craving stories or prenancy insights to share?
