Martin Luther King day is coming up next Monday (1/20/14). Many local Indianapolis attractions offer free admission that day. This is a great opportunity to explore our city for FREE. Which attractions will your family be checking out?

  • Indianapolis Museum of Art:Discover common threads and make visual connections as you explore the IMA collections. Enjoy family art-making and activities, as well as a featured community art project.

  • The Children's Museum: Martin Luther King Jr. Day will be filled with fun and family learning opportunities including six showings of Dr. King’s famous “I Have a Dream” speech film in the Lilly Theater.

  • Indiana Historical Society: Celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. King by visiting You Are There 1968: Robert F. Kennedy Speaks, viewing special collection items in the library, watching films on the Civil Rights era and making specially themed crafts.

  • White River State Park: FREE admission to the many attractions at White River State Park with donation of one non-perishable food item per person, per attraction for Gleaner’s Food Bank. Attractions include: Indianapolis Zoo, Eiteljorg Museum, IMAX Theater, and more!

  • Conner Prairie: Discover more about the history of African American entrepreneurs in Indiana as you take on the role of an investor. Listen to stories of African American entrepreneurs from Indiana’s history.
